What Is Your Pain Telling You?
An experienced masturbator has discovered that the bill for masturbation's "free ride" includes persistent pain in expected places like his genitals and unexpected places like his lower back. What's going on? Will he ever be able to get an erection without pain or premature ejaculation? Read on, get the facts, and find out what you can do.
Case #: 1180
Concern:
I've over-masturbated for nearly 2.5 years. I suffer from things like lower back pain, pain in the testicles and pain in the groin. It’s difficult to get and maintain erections. The erections are usually painful. My ejaculation is alright, amount of pre-cum is small and there is slight premature ejaculation. My question, can you please tell me why I suffer from pain at the tip of my penis and all my other symptoms? Also, is there any way to fix this?
Discussion:
In a lot of ways, we guys have it pretty easy. Gender-roles aside, we constantly manufacture new sperm cells and remain sexually fertile for almost all of our adult lives. It’s also next to impossible for us to fake orgasms, but we’re pretty easy to please. And after hundreds of thousands of years’ worth of sexual selection, almost all of us are able to maintain sexual activity for a significant span of time.
Using It Up
The downside of this is that sometimes it’s much more difficult for us to figure out when we’ve overdone it. Too much sex, either on our own or with a partner, can leave us with significant damage, but only recently has science conclusively linked excessive ejaculations with various physiological ailments. The pain in your testicles is a relatively obvious connection, but your back pain is part of it, too.
Wearing It Out
From the outside, going from a flaccid penis to an erect one and then to ejaculation seems like a fairly simple process. But under the surface, and on the biochemical level, it’s a pretty complex series of events, each making the next one possible. Each step of the process leaves traces of one sort or another: physical wear and tear on organs, buildup of certain hormones, depletion of others, and so on. Your body can easily recover from it all, but only if you give it the appropriate nutrients and time to heal. Otherwise it’s a lot like running a car for months without so much as checking the oil; sooner or later, something is going to stop working right, or at all.
In your particular case, your symptoms are the result of too much epinephrine (more commonly known as adrenalin) and another hormone called prostaglandin E-2. Aside from consuming your body’s “quick energy” supply faster than it can be replenished, the excess epinephrine is wearing out your adrenal glands, which happen to be located in your lower back. Most of the rest of your symptoms stem from too much prostaglandin E-2.
It’s one of three closely-related hormones: E-1 is responsible for keeping your tissues supple enough to ‘snap back’ after being stretched or bent or otherwise distorted, E-2 is supposed to dilate your blood vessels to improve circulation and E-3 constricts blood vessels. Excessive masturbation frequently leads to decreased production of E-1 and E-3, leaving you with too much E-2. You might think that dilated blood vessels would help your erections, but the tissues around the blood vessels start swelling, too, a lot like putting a high-pressure water hose into a vice. End result: your blood circulation gets radically reduced.
Making Do And Doing Without
So what’s the cure? First of all, reduce your masturbation as much as possible for at least three solid weeks. Try to shoot for no ejaculation of any kind for that entire time, but even reducing it to no more than once every three days can be enough to let the recovery process get started. Your health-care provider may have some suggestions for medications, but you should also discuss changes to your diet (like eating more foods rich in zinc and B-complex vitamins) and starting a moderate exercise program to increase your testosterone levels. And, of course, you should consider taking an all-natural herbal supplement designed to help your body recover from sexual exhaustion. (TRY: Sexual Exhaustion & Dysfunction Herbal Formula)
Your problems did not develop overnight, and fixing them will likewise take time. But consider your options as carefully as you can, pay attention to what your body is telling you, and you’ll reap the rewards of recovered health and increased respect for your body’s limitations.
