I Get Too Wet
Learn about what exactly causes us women to self lubricate, and what it's like to lubricate much too much.
Case #: 1117
Concern:
When my boyfriend and I have sex I get excessively wet. To the point where we ultimately stop because he cannot feel anything anymore, and we're both getting very frustrated lately with this problem. The consistency is always different as well, for awhile it was very thin and sticky (I think due to all the pineapple juice I was drinking) and now it's more of a thicker, sticky, mucous consistency. I'm absolutely oblivious to what is wrong with me. Is it a medical issue? Is it something I'm eating? How do I control this? Please help us!
Discussion:
There are a lot of women out there that complain of not being able to self lubricate enough. Those women, for one reason or another, are experiencing very low levels of estrogen. Either they are going through menopause, or they are taking a new medication that is tampering with their carefully placed genetic makeup.
Crossing An Ocean
Women who are on the other side of the estrogen spectrum are experiencing just the opposite. Their bodies are producing too much estrogen throughout the day, and as a result they are wetter than ever. This occurs because when excessive estrogen or Oxycontin is released in to the uterus, cervix or vagina, it increases vaginal secretion during sex.
An excess of the inflammatory hormone prostaglandin E-2 will also cause large amounts of vaginal discharge during intercourse. The most predominate cause behind this type of drastic hormonal change is usually birth control or prescription drugs. A C-section that causes nerve damage is also a possible cause.
Sent And Color
Though at this point there are no alarming signs of infection, I would definitely suggest that you pay close attention to the color and odor of your vaginal discharge. If any interesting color springs up any time soon, you should see your doctor immediately in order to prevent infection from spreading. The type of scent that your vaginal secretion is giving off can also be a tail tell sign of infection, and should be addressed as soon as possible.
Birth Control Break Down
Birth control essentially tricks the female body into thinking that we are pregnant in order to prevent a pregnancy. It does this by flooding the body with high amounts of progesterone and estrogen. Estrogen is what keeps the vagina healthy. It is also the key ingredient to lubrication. If the body is off the charts as far as estrogen is concerned, the lubrication will follow.
A Balancing Act
The best way to cut back on that extra wetness is to balance out those uneven estrogen levels. The best way to do that is by utilizing natural herbs such as Tree Peony Bark, Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, and Dong Quia. (SEE: Herbal Formula for Excessive Vaginal Discharge) These herbs will not only fix the tipped scale of female hormones, they will also regulate the hormonal cycle and prevent harmful infections. When these herbs work together, they regulate the proper flow of vaginal secretions whether you choose to stay on your current method of birth control, or not.
