I'd Rather Be Hooked On Orgasms: How to Find Sexual Positions

Where do you get most of your sexual information from? Do you mischievously search through the blogs hoping for answers? Or are you more of a magazine type?
Case #:1880
Concern:

Whenever I want to learn more about a certain position, or I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong in the bedroom, I feel like I really have no forum to turn to. The blogs don't really seem to know what they're talking about. And I'm pretty sure hiring a sex expert would be way too costly. Is there any other resource out there that could help?
Discussion:

I happen to be an avid reader, which really came in handy when I first started exploring my own sexuality. In the early stages of my teen years, books helped me to really understand why strange things were all-of-a-sudden happening to my body. They taught me what things like periods were, and why cramps were sometimes so blindingly painful.
Where There's A Will There's A Way

When I turned eighteen, and I had my very first sexual experience with another person, books taught me what to expect during that first time, and how to stay calm and enjoy the process.
Now, in my late twenties, there are certain pieces of literature that I personally deem essential for any woman who is looking to broaden her sexual horizons.
Blogs Are Not Docs

The best thing about a good article or book about the particular subject you are interested in is, you're basically getting your information straight from the source. Many of these articles are written by doctors and sexual therapists that are well versed in the art of sex. They know their field of practice inside and out. Luckily, many of these specialists will put out their own works of literature, so that you too may become enlightened on subjects you are questionable about. When reading these books, it's almost like having your very own sex therapist by your side.
One thing you won't have to do with a bound book, is sift through the countless blogs and personal experiences, looking for information that is usually no help to anyone anyway. I always try to remember that anyone can say anything on the internet, it doesn't necessarily have to be true. Sometimes you can actually tell that what that particular person experienced was nothing more than a fabricated lie.
All For Not

I can't stress how important it is to really have the facts on something before you decide to go out and do it. Take The Karma Sutra, for instance. Without that book, many men and women would be under the impression that Karma Sutra was just about having sex for eight hours straight. (SEE: Self-Help Books for Enhanced Orgasms) And that's really not the case at all. The practice of the Sutra, really boils down to total, and complete intimacy. Not just intimacy of the body, but of the mind as well.
Without some brilliant texts that elaborate on the art of BDSM, a lot of people would just have a preconceived notion that it's just about dominating women. This actually could not be further from the truth. In fact, after reading a lot of the bondage and sadomasochism books out there, I'm willing to bet that dominatrix's more than outnumber male dominants.
One thing is for sure, you shouldn't feel ashamed of wanting to learn more about expressing your own sexuality. As long as it's done by consenting adults, it's really nobody's business what you like to do between the sheets. Books have always been a gateway to knowledge unknown by many, and taught by few.
