She Claims Broken Condom Caused Her to have Vaginal Foul Smell
Her use of birth control pills, unprotected sex, and vulva abrasion are possible causes of her yeast infection
Case #: 35427
Concern:
Lately, my boyfriend and I are having sex quite often, sometimes twice a day. So I have been taking the birth control pills for many weeks. A couple of days ago, I noticed that I was starting to get REALLY itchy "down there". It’s starts smell kinda nasty. Can too much sex cause this? He has been using condom most of the time, although the day before it started to itch, the condom broke during sex.
Discussion:
Your vaginal dryness and odd smell are not likely causes by too much sex. You're probably suffering from a yeast infection, the likely an indirect result of taking birth control medication. These are actually very common symptoms among women who take birth control. Birth control medication emulates a pregnancy state by flooding the brain with excessive progesterone and/or estrogen, so that your brain will think you are pregnant and then shut down your ovarian function. This results in excessive progesterone or estrogen in the uterus and cervix that would also changed pH level making easier for bacterial infection.
It has been known that estrogen based birth control pills can promote an enzyme called Delta-5 Desaturase (D5D) and through a set of enzymatic cascade that resulted in the excessive amount of prostagladin E-2 produced. For some women, harmful yeast proliferation and germination happened if their macrophages swollen too much prostagladin E-2 and reduce available T lymphocyte. Then harmful yeast would out grow the normal protective vaginal bacterial flora resulted in vaginal infection with odor. [1] [2] [3]
Use Vaginal Relief & Detoxification Formula to stabilize your pituitary-ovarian function, detoxify the uterus, cervix and vagina, and boost neuro-immunity to prevent yeast outbreak. Yeastaway Vaginal Suppositories has many homeopathic ingredients to combat infection.
Good hygiene may prevent unhealthy vaginal discharge. Rinse soap from your outer genital area after a shower, and dry the area well to prevent irritation. Wipe from front to back after using the toilet to avoid spreading fecal bacteria to your vagina. Use a male latex condom to help avoid infections spread by sexual contact. Wear cotton underwear and pantyhose with a cotton crotch. Avoid wearing underwear to bed, as yeast thrives in moist environments.
