Urine Serious Trouble – The Painful Facts About Urethritis
Urethritis is the kind of scourge that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. Characterized by a sore urethra and extremely painful urination, this unfortunate condition can be tricky to get under control. Hear firsthand accounts of this dreadful infection, and find out how the issue was finally resolved.
Case #: 504
Concern:
I have very fine sand in my urine. It hurts when I urinate. Going to the bathroom presents several issues that I often scream in pain when urinating. What do I do to fix it?
Discussion:
Yes, your story is all too familiar. The sensation of dread that overtakes you whenever you get the urge to urinate. The terrified anticipation of the inevitable pain as you lift up that toilet seat. The indescribable agony that pulsates through your body as that first stream shoots through your urethra like sandpaper against a raw nerve. Sorry to be so graphic, but I totally get it.
It sounds like you have a condition called urethritis.
The condition can be absolutely devastating, but the good news is that it's highly treatable. I once had the condition myself, and while my own urethritis was attributed to a negative reaction to spermicides in the condoms I was using, the truth is that there are many possible causes. Let's try to break down these common causes and see if we can find a solution to put an end to your nightmare.
What is Urethritis, Anyway?
Urethritis is a bacterial infection that inflames that urethra. Since the urethra is responsible for expelling urine from the bladder, an infected tube can cause some seriously miserable pain during urination, as you are already aware.
Urethritis - A List of Culprits
In some cases, the inflammation can result from lotions, creams, and even spermicidal lubricants (as we already established in my own example). If you're using any topical products for sex or masturbation, cease all use at once and see if the issue improves.
Urethritis can also result from urethral insertions. It's beyond me why any guy would want to insert objects into his urethra, but I'm not here to judge. Some guys have reported experiencing pleasurable sensations from urethral play, using objects such as thermometers, sounds and catheters. It may also be part of a BDSM activity. Please understand that inserting non-sterile objects into the urethra (or inserting any objects without a doctor's supervision) is VERY dangerous. Don't even attempt it.
Sexually transmitted diseases can cause urethritis. If you have been sexually active with someone who may be infected, have a doctor check you for STDs. There may be more going on beneath the surface than you even realize.
Finally, over-masturbation can cause urethritis. Do you masturbate daily? Or even multiple times per day? This can inflame your prostate by forcing the over-production of semen, which in turn can infect the urethra. If you find yourself constantly engaged in self-love, take a break.
That's Al Great, But What if These Solutions Don't Work?
If you can't pinpoint your cause, or if you just can't get rid of the pain and inflammation despite your best efforts, you'll want to consider using a cranberry remedy with hibiscus. Cranberry has been proven effective against urethral inflammation (which is why UTI sufferers are commonly advised to drink their weight in cranberry juice).
Hibiscus has also been shown to prevent bacteria from latching onto the urinary tract. If the pain still persists, make sure to see a doctor. Believe me, I know what it's like, and it really is a nightmare. Take care of yourself.
