The New Quickie: The 5-Minute Rinse You Need To Try To Prevent Disease Before Sex
Look at the next young woman you see. Size her up—does she seem like the type of girl who’d enjoy a bit of anal sex? If not, your next step is to take a look at yourself, because one of you two is having or has had anal sex. The percentage of women who report having anal sex has been rising significantly since the early 90’s, and as of 2010, approximately fifty percent of all women between the ages of 18-24 have tried or are currently experimenting with anal sex.
Not Ladies’ Choice
No matter what the reason is, the fact remains. Women are getting down and dirty. What’s interesting is how uninformed many women continue to be about how to actually go about the process. It seemed, amongst my set, to be something of a rite of passage. Most girls experienced it with their first boyfriends, and consequently loathed it. Similar to losing your virginity to a young man who’s also a virgin, and having a horrible time because, heaven knows, he hasn’t done any preparatory reading, is the experience many young anal virgins have.
My first time having anal was a nightmare; I believe I cried. Others responses are the same. Some girls try it whilst under the influence, i.e. anaesthetized, and wake up in the morning with an aching bum. Some girls try to work through the pain, and just end up with nothing to show for it. Most women don’t see anal as a way to give themselves pleasure, but rather as a way for men to be appeased.
When It’s Good, It’s Good
Well, I’m here to tell you, as a first-time anal survivor, that anal sex can be pleasurable. But you have to do it right! That means, no dry runs, no working through it, no anything that hurts. The other things to consider are your own nerves. As a woman, we seem overly conscious of being dirty or smelly, even under ordinary circumstances. How much more are we stressing at the thought of someone being around a hole that’s normally used to emit the grossest, stinkiest matter in the human body?
Keep It Clean, Kids
The first thing to do is to calm down. A gentle wash will clean anything away from the outside—you don’t even have to use soap. I actually recommend that you don’t use soap, as it can irritate the gentle tissues near your anus. If you’re worried about what’s happening inside, rather than out, you have a couple options: enema or douche.
For first-time anal sexers, I highly recommend trying an anal douche rather than an enema. (TRY: Anal Douche for Infection Prevention) There’s a huge difference between spritzing some water into your rectum, and gravitationally introducing a large amount of liquid into your intestines, to be contained for a set amount of time. The first type is an anal douche; the second, an enema.
Just Freshening Up
Anal douches will clear out any matter that’s just hanging around in your colon. It’s not a large-scale cleanse, but it will keep your partner free of fecal matter in the moment. There’s no cramping, or holding, or even very much liquid used, just a small pipette with a squeeze bulb on the end of it. Just like basting a turkey!
If you’re considering anal sex for the first time, man or woman, you might feel more comfortable about proceeding after a gentle cleansing. It takes almost no time, and you’ll be able to relax much more afterwards, which is so important to the process, as the anus tightens up when we experience any kind of anxiety. A quick rinse will certainly set you on the right course to anal done properly.
