Vaginal Dryness Caused by Antibiotics

When a woman starts to feel turned on, her body will naturally release lubrication to minimize the pain of the penis sliding back and forth. As women age, their bodies start to naturally produce less and less lubrication because of a dearth in progesterone. Progesterone, a hormone produced by the ovaries, becomes the driving force needed to keep crostisol levels down in order to release lubrication. Estrogen and progesterone levels do not vanish simply because of age; young women can experience hormone imbalances due to drug abuse, medication and even antibiotics.

The liver releases enzymes 17 and 20 desmolase, which are used by the ovaries to convert 17-hyoxyprogesterone into the hormone androstenedione. Androstenedione is used to convert testosterone and estrogen. When testosterone and estrogen are not produced or used up, orgasms, sex drive, and yes, even vaginal lubrication, all disappear.

When the ovaries cannot convert 17-hyoxyprogesterone into the hormone androstenedione, the liver also releases 21-hydroxylase and 17-beta-hydroxylase, hormones that turn progesterone into cortisol. The excess of cortisol will cause vaginal dryness, which results in intercourse and penetration pains associated with orgasm dysfunction.

Because antibiotics affect the liver, the organ can become poisoned by the proliferation of drugs present in the body and be unable to break down the high levels of corstisol. Women experiencing vaginal dryness may want to take herbs such as Bupleurum Chinense, Rehmannia glutinosa, Dong Quai, and Fenugreek to help with the detoxification process. Products such as the Vaginal RH Formula I will contain the above-mentioned herbs to help alleviate the liver from such an arduous detoxification process.
