Investigation on Her Persistent Vaginal Thrush After a Dose of the Morning-After Pill
The morning-after pill causes her white cheesy vaginal discharge and yeast infection.
Case #: 37074
Concern:
My girlfriend has been suffering from persistent vaginal thrush for the last 4 months, after taking a dose of the morning-after pill. Thick creamy white discharge appears around her vagina. It often bleeds when it gets really itchy. Her dark urine has a strong odor, but no pain during urination. She has not recovered after seeing doctors. She got freaked out sometimes. She thinks I don’t love her anymore…Is it safe to have sex with her, if I use condom?
Vaginal Thrush
Vaginal Thrush is an infection caused by a yeast fungus, Candida Spp. It can cause itch, redness, or pain around the vagina. The discharge from thrush is often thick creamy white. Pain might occur during urinating or sexual intercourse
Discussion:
Yes, I would recommend using a condom if you are going to have sex with her. But it would be best to wait until she recovered. Her white, cheesy discharge and cause of her yeast infection are due to excessive artificial progesterone (progestin) from the morning-after pills. The morning-after pills (also known as Emergency Contraception) works by keeping a woman’s ovaries from releasing eggs, thickening a woman’s cervical mucus, and thins the lining of the uterus.
Progestins have been known to decrease serum sex hormone- binding globulin (SHBG). A decrease in SHBG leads to more free testosterone. To counteract the increase of testosterone in the body, her liver has to produce excessive SHGB protein to inhibit testosterone in her bloodstream. The morning-after pill disabled her normal sexual function, so her pituitary gland constantly dumps excessive prolactin into her bloodstream.
Did You Know?
Common side effects of progestin contraception include headache, acne, weight gain, leukorrhea, pelvic pain, vaginal fungal infections, and itchy vulva (genital pruritus).
The residual progestin in her tissue blocks the synthesis of the anti-inflammatory hormone prostaglandin E-1. Thus, her vaginal tissues experience abrasion without the usual healing power. As a result, she experiences the symptoms you have described.
The dark urine may indicate there is a slight internal bleeding due to a lack of prostaglandin E-1 and excessive amounts of the inflammatory hormone prostaglandin E-2 in the bladder or urethral tissue.
Vaginal Relief & Detoxification Formula would be a good solution to reverse the damage caused by the morning-after pill, gradually rejuvenate the neuro-endocrine function, detoxify the liver, uterus and cervix, and boost prostaglandin E-1/E-3, oxytocin and nitric oxide production for healing, and recover from vaginal infection.
