Antidepressant Medication is Bringing Me Down!

Currently, there are no drugs specifically created to treat premature ejaculation. Oddly enough, the only semi-effective medications approved by the FDA for delaying ejaculation are Antidepressants.

Your initial reaction might be, “Hey! So, I get to feel better AND help my ejaculation control?” Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Antidepressants cause more negative effects than good ones. Also, the effectiveness of delaying orgasm is limited to just a few minutes.

However, there are healthier and more effective solutions that target the problem directly, rather than being the by-product of some other medication.

What Are Antidepressants?

Anti-depressants work by trying to keep chemicals called neurotransmitters from dropping below normal levels, or from being used somewhere other than the brain and it’s nervous system. These neurotransmitters are obviously needed by the body to keep you happy. But they are also used to help you sleep, feel and relieve pain, digest food, and initiate your ‘fight or flight’ response. When it comes to sexuality, these same neurotransmitters allow the experience of pleasure by creating the man’s urge to ejaculate and erecting the penis, stimulating the clitoris and G-spot of women, and controlling the point of orgasm for both sexes. This is why anti-depressants seem to help men who have problems with premature ejaculation.

Unless you are prescribed anti-depressants to alleviate your depression, taking these drugs are not a good plan for ejaculation control. Besides decreasing depression symptoms and slightly delaying the point of ejaculation for men by a few minutes, antidepressants also have a host of negative side effects. The three main anti-depressant drugs are; monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs); Tricyclics (TCAs); and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs):

MAOIs – work by blocking an enzyme known as monoamine oxidase, which breaks down monoamine neurotransmitters. However, because MAOIs also affect other chemicals in the body, you must carefully watch your diet to compensate for missing nutrients and hormones. Other risks include hypertension, nausea, weight gain, insomnia, agitation, fever, profuse sweating, and additional sexual dysfunctions, just to name a few.

Tricyclics – block the absorption of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine with neurons that keep the neurotransmitters moving and in use. Side effects include many of the same as MAOIs but without the diet restrictions. However, an overdose can be fatal.

SSRIs – are the newest and most effective antidepressants on the market today. They include such well-known brands as Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil. A selective serotonin reupate inhibitor (SSRI) does just as the name implies; it only blocks the absorption or “reuptake” of serotonin, which is most related to depression. However, the side effects of weight gain, dry mouth, disturbed sleep, and sexual dysfunctions (such as impotence) come with the package.

Regardless of which type of anti-depressant medication you take for premature ejaculation, there are always additional side effects. Drug interaction is perhaps the most common. If you are taking other medications, anti-depressants will inhibit their effectiveness, at the very least, and cause you serious reactions of more severity. Alcohol, despite the role it plays in our social and everyday lives, is still a drug, and interacts very badly with anti-depressants.

How Do I Avoid Side Effects?

Get the picture? Anti-depressants are not a good solution to premature ejaculation problems. They may give you a few extra minutes in the sheets, but that’s only if you can keep an erection in the first place. Besides creating even more sexual problems and negative side effects, its effectiveness doesn’t even kick in for weeks. Also, anti-depressant medication is only meant to relieve the symptoms of depression, not the root cause. Stop taking the medication, and your depression and premature ejaculation will return with a vengeance.

To avoid all the unwanted side effects, the easy solution is herbal supplements. And the most effective choice to not only cure premature ejaculation but to also possibly alleviate some symptoms of depression is herbal solution (SEE: herbal remedy for nourishing ejaculatory nerves).

There is no worry about impotence or any other added sexual dysfunction. Because it is an all-natural herbal solution, none of the harmful side effects from prescription drugs occur. There is no need to change your diet in fear of unbalanced nutrients. Alcohol will not cause adverse reactions. Also, you won’t suffer from the insomnia, sweating, dry mouth, and weight gain associated with pharmaceutical use.

Herbal formula does not require a prescription and is very easy to get. The one thing it does have in common with anti-depressants, it’s extremely easy to take. For an added burst of endurance, take a dose just before sexual activity. No need to wait around for a few weeks before you start seeing results.

Besides dealing with premature ejaculation, the Custa pills for PE with low testosterone can do things that anti-depressants cannot. You will experience longer and harder erections. Extra energy and a stronger sex drive will make your sexual experience more intense.

Stress and anxiety over sex can be alleviated. Exhaustion and nutrient depletion from sex and masturbation will be replenished and rejuvenated. Because the herbal nutrients from in the formula complement each other in a synergistic fashion, you can actually help to improve and maintain the general health of your body.
