Herbal Tincture For Insomnia & Exhaustion

The purpose of this tincture is to relieve the symptoms of an inability to sleep coupled with persistent feelings of exhaustion.
By isolating the antioxidant ingredients of the herbs and combining their effects, this tincture enables the user to not only sleep well at night, but to feel alive and energized throughout the day. The calming properties of Cornus and Dioscorea work concurrently with the invigorating effects of Ginseng and Os Draconis, creating a potent formula that, while it allows deep refreshing sleep, it does not diminish overall energy when it is needed.
Of the many potent herbs found in this formula, a few deserve a closer look. There’s Rehmannia, known worldwide for promoting longevity, it is a valuable and traditional tonic. Panax Ginseng helps the body to adapt to adverse conditions and produces a sedative effect when the body requires sleep. Lastly, there’s the effective astringent and fever remedy known as Cornus. Combined with the other herbs, this is one seriously effective remedy!
People suffering from insomnia should start treating themselves by creating a restful place to sleep, cutting out caffeine, and learning to relax. Taking this safe and gentle formula will help:

15 grams of Panax Ginseng (Ren Shen)
20 grams of Rehmannia Glutinosa (Shu Di Huang)
15 grams of Dioscorea Opposita (Shan Yao)
15 grams of Cornus Officinalis (Shan Zhu Yu)
15 grams of Angelica Sinensis (Dong Quai)
10 grams of Lycium (Goji)
20 grams of Zizyphus (Suan Zao Ren)
20 grams of Polygala Tenuifolia Radix (Yuan Zhi)
20 grams of Os Draconis (Long Gu)
15 grams of Ostrea Gigas (Mu Li)

  1. Pour the herbal blend into the jar, up to between a quarter to half of its capacity (20 oz)
  2. Add Vodka, Rum or Brandy just above the level of herbs.
  3. Seal the jar (tightly, to prevent leakage or evaporation)
  4. Store the jar in a dry and dark area.
  5. Add more alcohol over the next few days, as the dried herbs soak and expand.
  6. Store the jar up to two weeks to three months.
  1. Strain the tincture through a sieve with cheesecloth into another clean jar or storage container.
  2. Extract the remaining tincture by squeezing the saturated herbs and transfer it into a dropper bottle. Refrigerate it.
  3. Drink two teaspoons right after lunch and dinner. If you can’t stand the taste, dilute it with water, juice, or tea.

Most herbal tinctures are prepared using alcohol as a solvent. But if you can’t consume alcohol use Apple Cider Vinegar or Wine Vinegar instead. It is recommended to store them in the refrigerator, but be sure to label the jars clearly in order to prevent other family members from inadvertently drinking your tincture.

Avoid using plastic containers at all costs. The ethanol in the tincture may solubilize some of the free vinyl substances in the plastic and some PBA might leak out. Never use stainless steel containers for long-term storage.

If the tiny fragments of residue passing through the cheesecloth concern you, filter them twice through a paper coffee filter.

Insomnia may be triggered by psychological stress. Dealing with the stress, through professional counseling or other methods, will greatly improve the ability to overcome sleeplessness. In severe cases, acupuncture was used with varying results to treat insomnia.

However, for those that want a natural solution, one without any adverse side effects, the Herbal Tincture for Insomnia, is the most reliable. It’s active ingredients promote deep and healthy REM sleep and are proven effective.
