The next time you urgently need to drain your bladder, just think about how you might be setting yourself up for premature ejaculation. That will probably have you heading to the nearest bathroom with more urgency. The PC muscles, that muscles you use to stop the flow of urination while urinating and the muscle you keep tightened when holding it in, is often the cause of premature ejaculation, for many men.

The PC muscles can be found by stopping the flow of urination. The next time you do so; concentrate on what exactly you squeezed to stop. You just flexed your PC muscles. Congratulations. Now stop flexing it because the more you do so the more likely you are to suffer from premature ejaculation. Putting unneeded stress on the PC muscles will lead to premature ejaculation and other negative side effects.

WHY MEN USE THEIR PC MUSCLES

In many cases, men find that squeezing and flexing their PC muscles aids them in the bedroom. Men who do so report feeling more stimulation and pleasure during oral or vaginal sex. Other men rely on the PC muscle to improve the quality of their erection.

Men who suffer from symptoms of erectile dysfunction use their PC muscles to give their penises a boost. Flexing the muscle temporarily makes the penis firmer.

Men who settle on this form of aiding their erections do so often and usually feel burning and soreness in the perineum, the area between the scrotum and the anus. It turns out that using the PC muscles too often will actually weaken the erection instead of strengthening it.

Another category of men who have abused their PC muscles are those that participate in Kegel exercises. These exercises involve squeezing and holding the PC muscles tight in intervals of 3-5 seconds and then relaxing the muscles for a few seconds and then repeating. This cycle is repeated several more times to complete a session.

Kegel exercises are usually done anywhere between 3 to 5 times a day with some practicing them upwards of 10 times a day. Overdoing these exercises will result in abuse of the PC muscles and a future of sexual problems.
