Calm Down, Don’t Get So Testes

During puberty and the few years following, your natural level of testosterone is extremely high. But this isn’t a concern because your body needs it to help you grow and look like a man. As you grow older, the level of testosterone starts to decline – especially around middle age (also known as Male Menopause).

Testosterone Production in Men

Normally, your body knows when to stop producing testosterone when the concentration gets too high. However, certain things you do in life may be disrupting this ability and adding excessive levels to your natural range of testosterone. Weight lifters and body builders tend to increase their testosterone level from exercise, steroids, and other testosterone boosters as a means to build muscle. Yes, testosterone aids in the development of muscles. But the excess unused testosterone has to go somewhere.

Excessive masturbation and sexual practices also lend themselves to a heightened level of testosterone. The hormones sent by the brain to stimulate testosterone production in the testes are also responsible for producing sperm. During bouts of excessive masturbation and sex, the testes are constantly sending a message to produce more of your little swimmers. To do so, it needs more testosterone and the hormones associated with it. You may have sufficient levels (sometime too much) of testosterone in your system, but you may not have the other hormones needed to create more sperm. So the brain pumps the production of both testosterone and other hormones into overdrive to meet the demand.

Along with testosterone, seminal fluid is needed from the prostate when you produce semen. Ejaculate is comprised of 5% sperm (which comes from your testes) and 95% seminal fluid (which is produced by the prostate). The seminal fluid from the prostate is needed to provide protection and nourishment for sperm. Besides flushing out any harmful bacteria and liquids that may be in the urethra of the penis during ejaculation, it also provides a wetter and more hospitable environment so the sperm can actually swim and make it to the female’s egg. So, excess masturbation and sex makes the prostate work even harder, on top of the extra testosterone converting it’s already doing.

Along with sperm, testosterone is used in the erection of your penis. The extra amount of time you have your penis hard (outside from normal spontaneous erections) is creating a “positive” biofeedback loop, training your brain to produce more testosterone. The brain (specifically, the anterior pituitary gland) gauges its production of testosterone on not only how much is currently in the body, but also by the amount of production in the past. This is especially the case in Youth Impotence, where the naturally high levels of testosterone production from puberty is carried over into adulthood from the continued practice of over-masturbation.

The Testosterone Zone

If your premature ejaculation is a result from the overabundance of testosterone in your system, there are several things you can do to put your testosterone back to its proper levels. Diet is a key factor. Try reducing your intake of red meat and dairy products, and switch to eating a lot of fresh vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, and soy products to help cool (and shrink) your prostate, which will reduce the binding of DHT in the prostate tissue.

Taking steroids and other boosters may increase your muscle mass, but it’s leaving unwanted side effects. Also, if you’re taking any medication, a boost in testosterone may be a side effect. However, you should consult your physician to find out for sure and to ask if you can stop taking your current medication.

Besides proper exercise (to help burn off some of the testosterone) and diet, an herbal supplement may be used to help recovery. Natural products like herbs aid in bringing the body back to a normal, healthy range. The body needs a balanced ratio of all its hormones to be able to run at its peak performance and herbs are a great way to do that.

--- Fast Fact ---
There is a significant relationship between low testosterone and decreased libido; but decreased libido in many men is not always because of low testosterone.
