Effects
There are reports to show Cistanche has effects
of increasing saliva secretion, lowering blood pressure and increasing
of body weight.

10 – 20gm.
Notes
The effect of Cistanche is rather mild, and many
times have to use a larger amount to gain the effects.
Contraindications
Because it is a warm tonifying herb, it is not advice
to use for subjects who have dryness of mouth, diarrhea and hot
sensation in palms.
Interesting facts
Cistanche is used to replenish blood and Kidney-Jin
in Chinese Medicine. It is to use for impotence and disturbance
of menstruation. Since the characteristic of this herb is warm (not
hot), blend and sweet, thus it does not give a strong action. That
why it has a Chinese name “Cong Rong” means “easy
to follow”.
