Urinary Incontinence - Caused by Menopause
Physiological changes can occur with the lower estrogen and testosterone levels of postmenopausal women, including:
- Weakening of the pelvic floor and bladder sphincter muscle
- Urethra atrophy
- Tissue shrinkage at the junction of urethra and bladder
If low level of estrogen and testosterone persisted for a long period of time and left untreated, anatomical changes for bladder sphincter can lead to severe urinary incontinence. Some women with severe urinary incontinence symptom include lack of bladder control even when sneezing or laughing out a loud.
If you were worried about the side effects of hormonal replacement therapy, considered strengthen your pelvic muscle groups by Kegel exercise or natural remedies that containing plant molecule similar to hormones and known to stimulate body to exert tissue-building effect on the pelvic floor muscles.
Other herbs in the remedy also have strengthening effects for pelvic muscle cells by interacting with androgen receptor on the surface. For example, water-soluble pumpkin seed and soy isoflavone extracts were shown clinically to improve incontinent female between the age of 55 to 79 years old. After several months of taking those herbs, close to 80% of participants in the research have improved bladder control that avoid urinary incontinence. [1] [2]
