In the minds of most people, Alaska is only associated with snow ⛄️ and the Aurora Borealis ❄️. However, as someone who desires something different, I wanted to experience the diverse Alaskan landscape. Therefore, my friends and I went on a fall trip to Alaska in early September!
1⃣ Best Time:
Late August to mid-September. Any earlier and the Aurora Borealis won't be visible due to the "Midnight Sun."
2⃣ Scenic and Fun Activities:
① Enjoy the autumn scenery
② Whale watching and glacier tour by boat
③ Kayaking to see glaciers
④ Visit the zoo
⑤ Soak in hot springs
⑥ See the Aurora Borealis
⑦ Take a small plane to see the snow and autumn scenery ✈️
3⃣ Important considerations:
🌡️ Temperature: The temperature during autumn is not very low, around 5-10 degrees Celsius during the day. However, the nighttime temperature might drop to below 0 Celsius, so you should bring a down jacket.
☁️ Weather: The weather in Alaskan autumn is changeable. When it's sunny, take more pictures, in case it rains later. On clear days, take advantage and capture every moment with your camera 📷.
🍚 Food: Of course, fish and seafood, especially king crab 🦀️. Even if you're not a big seafood fan, the king crab here is really delicious!
