How Am I Not Pregnant Yet, After Everything We Tried?

Learn about \some easy tweaks and little changes you can do to increase your chances of conceiving.

Case #:

My fiancé and myself have been trying for six months to get pregnant and we have no idea how it's not possible to get pregnant. Could there be something wrong with me? I feel like going to the doctor but that will just make me panic more than I already am. I don't think there's anything wrong with me or my husband. Do you know of any tips that we can try as a last resort? If you come up with a tip and that doesn't work we will have no choice but to go to the doctor to find out what the problem is. This is my last bit of hope. Please help me.

I'm sure it may seem that getting pregnant only requires two willing parties, an egg and a sperm...But it's actually a bit more complicated than that. Sometimes random sessions of intercourse are not enough to get the job done. When you factor in the exact amount of open-window time you actually have to properly fertilize an egg, things seem to get a little more complicated.
Everybody's Doing It
Each month a woman’s’ ovary releases one egg into the uterus to be fertilized by sperm. This is what we refer to as the ovulation process. It lasts for about twelve to twenty-four hours, and once that time has passed the egg will die off and you will typically menstruate accordingly.
Basically, we only have a day to do the deed and hope that it takes. Otherwise, we are left waiting a whole other month for another chance of pregnancy.
Save The Date
About twenty percent of women in their mid-twenties and early thirties, who are not taking birth control will become pregnant each year. This is actually a pretty high rate, considering the tiny widow of opportunity that is presented to us. One of the easiest ways to figure out the best time to try to conceive is to pay close attention to your calendar. Ovulation occurs most often halfway through the menstrual cycle. An average cycle lasts for twenty-eight days, starting from the first day of your period to the first day of your next period.
You may also be able to tell by merely listening to your body. Many women experience tenderness of the breasts during ovulation day, we usually just chalk it up to PMS though.
Quick Tips
I would definitely recommend staying away from foods that are heavy laden with gluten. Gluten has been known to contribute to amenorrhea disorders. It may also decrease your pregnancy rate or actually increase your chances of having a miscarriage.
It is also imperative to refrain from becoming overly stressed. Frazzled nerves will only worsen the situation at hand. Doing some natural breathing exercises or yoga a few times a week will help to decompress, and relax your state of mind.
I would also suggest using a fertility lubricant that does not contain any sperm damaging chemicals, to increase your chances. (SEE: Fertility Enhancing Lubricants) A specialized fertility lube will generally contain vegetable, or olive oil to ensure the sperm is never disrupted while traveling down the baby-maker highway...Kind of like tiny air bags for your partners’ sperm.
