Prone Masturbation – What It Is and Why You Need to Stop Doing It

Everyone knows what masturbation is. It's the magic formula for making angels sing and bringing peace to the nations. And from what I've heard, it's also the number one cause of blindness and hairy palms in men—just kidding. At any rate, it's an activity that just about every guy occasionally enjoys, and it's perfectly healthy in moderation. But certain types of masturbation can be hazardous to your health. For instance, you never want to bring your plug-in sex toy into the bathtub with you, and you're going to want to avoid prone masturbation at all costs. “But wait,” you say, prone masturbation? Yes, prone masturbation.
What is Prone Masturbation?
Though you don't commonly hear the expression, you may have tried the activity at one point or another. Prone masturbation involves lying on your stomach, rather than on your back. You might use your hand (per the normal routine) or you might masturbate by thrusting your penis into a pillow, mattress or other object to simulate real sex. Prone masturbation can be extremely dangerous, and in fact, it has been shown to cause severe sexual dysfunction in most people who habitually engage in the activity.
Only about 10 percent of the population engages in this form of masturbation, but that's not such a small number when you really break it down. For instance, 10 percent of the population is homosexual; 13 percent of the population is African American; and 15 percent of the population meets the criteria for alcoholism. So a seemingly small percentage can obviously encompass a lot of people. If you practice prone masturbation, you would be wise to stop immediately.
What's So Bad About Prone Masturbation?
According to a 1998 report from the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, prone masturbation places tremendous pressure on the base of the penis. Over time, this masturbation can lead to a serious condition known as anorgasmia, defined as extreme difficulty of achieving an orgasm, or a complete inability to complete an orgasm. In fact, nearly 60 percent of people who engage in prone masturbation have reported problems with anorgasmia. That's a staggering number.
Is if that wasn't enough good news, at least one-third of people who practice prone masturbation have reported suffering from erectile dysfunction. So even if you're one of the lucky few who doesn't become plagued by anorgasmia, it won't really matter if you can't get it up anyway. Some guys claim that prone masturbation feels better than conventional supine (performed on one's back) masturbation, but ask yourself, is it really worth the potential risks?
Have You Already Experienced Symptoms?
Maybe you're reading this and thinking to yourself, “Oh no, I'm already experiencing these symptoms. Is there anything I can do?” For starters, you need to lay off the dangerous masturbatory practice. Second, herbal treatments may treat nerve and tissue damage to reverse the signs of sexual dysfunction. Herbs like Astragalus Membranaceus, Cornus Officinalis, and Opiopogon have shown tremendous progress.
Most importantly, don't buy into the myth that prone masturbation is more like real intercourse. Real intercourse doesn't place that kind of pressure on the base of the penis, and it typically doesn't lead to devastating sexual dysfunction (unless your partner likes it very, very rough). So practice safe sex, and safe masturbation. The health of your penis depends on safety.

How much of these should we take? do we do all three at once? Thanks
Any side effects?
Thanks. Well I have prone masterbated for life. Stopped about two weeks ago trying to retrain myself with my understanding girlfriend. I can get hard but I don't cum. Only way I come is rocking on my fist in the prone postion when I'm soft. Another question is any side effects from these herbs I should be aware of? Thanks.

1. Stop
2. Go to hand only ('supine masturbation')
3. Consider supplements like those mentioned on the website
What I want to know is, has anyone tried these ideas in conjunction with a Fleshlight?
My question is, what would the benefits of using a fleshlight be? Fleshlight themselves can be quite dangerous since they are not natural vaginas that expand upon penetration. These are one size only and can be rough on the outside of the penis, especially if there is not enough lubrication.
1. It's not prone
2. You are thrusting into something, not putting all the pressure on it by putting your body weight on top of it prone on the bed. Hand action in a supine position can be pretty heavy too...
3. If you use lubricant and place the Fleshlight in hot water like the instructions suggest - wouldn't it then be OK unless you were particularly well endowed?
I went to the docter about 2 month ago, he told me I have to tell myself before i go to bed: I am going to wake up after the preforming of TMS (train myself, and eventuallly wake up if i preform) Unfortunatelly I do not wake up after preforming TMS, and continiu to to it in the middle of the night. Even Mind calming techniques dont work, because of the sexual arousal at night and then i uncounsiously preform agian.
Can you please help me with this, i get tired of it and i dont want to cause even more severe damage.
thank you in advance.

With such a long history of masturbating in the prone position, I think you will need to do a lot of things. I know a lot of men are emberassed, but I highly suggest going to the doctor if you experience any sort of problems with your penis or sex life, including self pleasure. The reason things like this feel so good is because it sort of mimics the pressure of the penis being inside a vagina. Have you tried anything like a fleshlight or a masturbator sleeve?
Unfortunatelly I have also started mastrubating prone since the age of 5. try to stop it but it keep preforming during sleep.
Should i also go to a Urologist, or take herbs?
thank you

Is it also possible to go to an sexologist? because i was recomended a good one.
or is it necessarily to go to an urlogist?

What do you mean with : It would be a good idea to show you natural ways that you can boost your sex drive and get everything back into a working function??

i have called the doctor and after this weekend i can take my Reference blank for a sexulogist.
I think i might have peyronie's disease, after i wrote last message, also unable to keep it up while mastrubating.
Should i do something about this immediately? or wait for apointment.
thanks

Hi, I am 21 and I had prone masturbated for around 4-5 years like rubbing with bed, sofa, pillows. From nearly a year, I am feeling unusual pain in the lower part of penis when erect and a bit low otherwise when I touch the part with genle pressure. The pain is in 2-3 areas in lower penis region and is very depressing as it is hard to masturbate by holding the penis from lower side and thats why I have to hold it from sides.
During orgasm it sometimes feels very painful (it feels like needles or thorns are present in lower penis) when semen passes with pressure through the effected areas. The urethra has also become narrow and cant handle pressure of semen and urine, during urinating I have to firstly clear the urethral passage by just passing out few drops of urine and then pass the urine afterwards.
Right now I am taking homeopathic treatment for urethral stricture and inflammation.
Please Please guide.

Do you also feel pain or inflammation in urethra.. and also the thinning of the urethra ?

See, firstly you have to stop doing it the prone way and also prevent it doing normally too till the urinating gets better. Mine is nearly the same case but I also used to do it by hand also when I was addicted to prone so the problem with my foreskin is there but not that much as yours.
After the problem with your urethra get better, start doing it by hand, your foreskin problem will gradually improve. Plus there are excercies for making the foreskin a bit loose so that it moves to and fro during motion- you can check it on the net.
Just ask your doctor about the urethral problem as it a bit to worry. Is your urethral pipe narrow as compared to others ?
