A Bladder that Won’t Empty - A painful disorder called Interstitial Cystitis has its aflictees peeing constantly

An unfortunate and persistent condition that primarily affects the bladder, Interstitial Cystitis can afflict anyone, but is most common among women. Also known as “overactive bladder syndrome” the disorder’s symptoms include uncomfortable bladder pressure, and mild to severe bladder and pelvic pain.

Although the severity of symptoms may vary during a sufferer’s lifetime, interstitial cystitis can adversely affect long-term quality of life. The degree of symptoms will also vary per individual. Some will go through periods where they feel completely unaffected. Others are practically unable to live a normal life because of it. Often, menstruation, prolonged sitting (like at an office job), stress, and sexual activities may all contribute to complicate the condition.

Besides the associated pain, those suffering from the disorder will likely experience a constant urge to pee. They will urinate frequently, sometimes yielding only a few drops. Those with the most severe form of the condition will find themselves going up to fifty times a day! Because of these urinary-related symptoms, the disorder is often mistaken for a urinary tract infection. Instead, it is likely that interstitial cystitis is the result of an abnormality in the protective lining of the bladder.

The bladder is an elastic oval-shaped organ that stores urine. Typically, it expands until it’s full. It then tells the brain that it needs to be emptied. This is done via the pelvic nerves, producing the urge to pee at normal intervals. People suffering from interstitial cystitis, however, feel like they need to pee all the time. Pinpointing the exact cause of the constant signaling to urinate has not yet been precisely  determined, but it is steadily examined.

Theories of causes for interstitial cystitis include that it is an auto-immune reaction, or is passed down hereditarily. It is also believed to be the result of an infection or allergy. Unfortunately, there's no ultimate treatment to cure the disorder. However, there are a number of natural remedies such as the Natural Remedy For Overactive Bladder & Urinary Health that have tallied high success rates in the treatment of  interstitial cystitis.
