Always Running to the Restroom due to DHT Overload
I went to a concert lately. And before I left, I said to myself, “MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE LEAVING.” Because I knew that as soon as the event started, throngs of my female counterparts would crowd the restroom. Stalls would be occupied, and my appointment with the John would be accompanied by long lines, sneering women and foul-smelling facilities.

As a women, how annoying it is to have to stop and wait constantly to use the restroom! I am constantly beset by long bathroom lines. It’s almost like being around a child—having to wait for him to use the restroom before leaving and soon after arriving. But men too have it a bit worse—messy toilet stalls, urine-stained seats and floors covered in paper towels.

Surging Tide
Males urinate an average of 4 to 7 times per day. But some go more than the average. And what causes healthy, young males to rush the restroom above the average? Prostatitis!

Prostatitis, known as prostate inflammation, occurs when the hormone DHT experiences an influx for prolonged periods. Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, is a hormone created when testosterone is reconstructed during an enzymatic process known as 5-alpha-reduction.

When high dosages of DHT remain present, the hormone stimulates prostatic growth. As the prostate enlarges, it squeezes against the bladder and creates the incessant urge to urinate.

More Than a Feeling
So where exactly does all this excess DHT coming from? Several factors influence DHT production, such as age and over-masturbation. For young men, age cannot cause the proliferation of DHT, but over masturbation can.

During an orgasm, the hormone prolactin releases to trigger the 5-alpha-reduction on testosterone. The product of this conversion is DHT. This conversion is healthy and normal. However, excessive masturbation for prolonged periods can cause an inordinate build up of DHT. What’s worse, DHT levels can decrease your testosterone reserve, causing erections to become weaker and weaker.

What can be done?

For men who continue to battle incessant bathroom trips during concerts or work, revitalizing herbs, such as Dianthus, Ophiopogon, Pygeum, Saw Palmetto, and Quercetin, can minimize the conversion of testosterone to DHT. Once all the excess DHT is flushed from your system, the prostate will become less inflamed and should begin to reduce in size, creating less pressure on the bladder—and keeping you out of the bathroom.
