I Know I’m No Longer a Young Man, But is Premature Ejaculation Natural For My Age?

Older men may have different causes for premature ejaculation, but it can still happen. And some causes affect you regardless of your age.

Question:

I am 50-years old. Recently, I was involved in an after-work session with a 35-year old blond. First, we kissed, and then I began to lick her breast while fingering her. Then I unzipped my pants and as she opened her mouth and went over my dick without touching it at all, I came. It did not last 2 minutes. I know an older man cannot sustain long compared to a young guy, but is this natural for my age?

Answer:

Well, it’s hard to say what’s wrong with you without more information. You’ve explained what happened, but what I need to know is how you arrived at this point. Was this session the first time you two were together? How often do you have sex? Do you masturbate? How often do you masturbate? How is your health? Are you stressed from work? Was this a one-time occurrence or does this happen all the time?

I have more questions for you right now than answers. However, I can give you a few likely scenarios. But realize that it’s really all speculation without more information.

The first possibility for your sudden and uncontrolled ejaculation is you were too excited. If this was your first experience with her, your body (specifically, the sympathetic nerves) may have been overstimulated. This would be even more the case if you have not had sex in a while. Your body just wasn’t used to the extreme sensations of sex. This often happens to young men when losing their virginity. However, the experience can still be extremely intense the first few times with any new partner.

The second scenario could be stress and anxiety. You mentioned how this was after work. If it was actually in the office, perhaps the fear of getting caught pushed your sympathetic nerves too far. The sympathetic nerves are also responsible for your urge to orgasm, so any intense emotion – not just sex – can push you closer to ejaculation. Thoughts of work, getting caught, and cheating (not that I’m saying you are) can add undue stress on the body.

A third possibility could be the prostate. You’re at an age now where prostate health should be a great concern for you. If you haven’t already started getting checkups once a year, you should begin to do so. Enlarged prostate glands – due to prostatitis, BPH, or cancer – will create pressure on the prostate.

Have you ever heard of the prostate referred to as the “male G-spot”? This is because the prostate is made-up of the same embryonic tissues that comprise the female G-spot. And just like our female counterparts, constant rubbing and pressure to these tissues can result in an orgasm. The added pressure of an erection could just be enough to cause you to ejaculate even before coital sex begins.

There are plenty more possible reasons for your dilemma. Take a look at the premature ejaculation main topics and read a few of the articles. Or drop us another letter describing your habits and lifestyles, so we can better assess your situation. Hope this helps a little.
