Getting older is not the only cause of sexual problems. The habits you start in your teens and carry over into young adulthood can affect the rest of your life.
Question:
I'm 36-years old and have a very low sex drive and suffer from very weak erections and premature ejaculations.
I'm confused as to what is the matter because I've had extremely hard erections in the past when I was younger. I over masturbated when I was in my teens and into my mid twenties. Sex has gotten in the way in past relationships and I believe it's come to a head now.
I've read many of your articles pertaining to premature ejaculations and weak erections. I'm currently taking anti-anxiety medication and nothing has helped.
How can I increase my sex drive and stop premature ejaculation?
Answer:
Anxiety is not always the cause of premature ejaculation, which is evident in your situation. Which is why the medication does not help. Although, the masturbation might have something to do with your problems.
What you are experiencing is sometimes referred to as “male menopause.” Usually happening to men older than you, it’s a time when your body has naturally dropped in its production of testosterone and other essential hormones and chemicals. However, male menopause is not only brought about by age.
Excessive masturbation, poor diet, lack of exercise, medication, disease, and other factors can also bring about an early drop in the needed levels of body chemicals.
Testosterone – perhaps the most important sexual hormone – is responsible for the sex drive in both men and women. Your low sex drive is obviously a result of having insufficient amounts. This can also attribute to your weak erection and premature ejaculation.
There are many ways to increase your natural production of testosterone without using steroids and testosterone injections.
First is diet. Meat contains substances to boost your natural testosterone levels. Although, this might not be a very healthy choice as excessive red meat can also lead to other health problems.
Instead, look for other sources of protein (nuts, seeds, beans, soy, and dairy products). Also, dark green vegetables like broccoli and brussels sprouts contain phytochemicals that block certain types of estrogen that shut down the production of testosterone.
Perhaps the easiest and best dietary way to boost testosterone production is through herbal supplements. Products that contain ginseng, damiana, ginkgo, and huperzia serrata can be extremely useful to increase the body’s own ability to produce testosterone.
These herbs also have the added bonus of improving and strengthening your blood flow to provide a harder erection and more ejaculation control. The extra energy they give will add to your sexual endurance as well as give you a lift for your everyday activities.
Finding these herbs in a single blend makes it more effective and easier to take.
You can stop the needless use of testosterone you currently have by reducing masturbation. Your excessive masturbation during your youth has definitely caused your body to be strained and too weak to produce enough testosterone now.
If you barely masturbate now, then you might consider cutting it out completely. If you don’t masturbate at all now, then you might want to stay away from sex for a while to give your body a chance to heal and restore its supply of nutrients.
Other things that retard your testosterone production are smoking, drinking, and recreational drugs. Reduce (or better yet, eliminate) any of these habits. Also, make sure you exercise on a regular basis. Even taking a half-an-hour walk each day can dramatically improve the health of your body and the production of essential chemicals. Park as far as you can at work and walk the extra steps. Climb a few flights of stairs instead of always taking the elevator.
Simple things like this don’t require you to go out of your way and can be very effective.
