Question:

I am a 28-year-old male that has been married for 4 years. At the beginning of the marriage, we had great sex and I could always make my wife orgasm.

Two years later, I can't last more than 30 seconds. I really want to have great sex with her again and also get her pregnant. I had prostatitis a few years back when I was in college. I was wondering if that could be the cause of my rapid ejaculation. If so, what can I do?

Answer:

It’s hard to make any certainties about your problem without more information, such as your frequency of sex, whether or not you masturbate, the frequency of masturbation, any existing health problems, whether you smoke and drink, and how serious your prostatitis was.

But the fact that you did experience prostatitis could be the culprit.

Inflammation of the prostate can be brought about by various causes. Among them are masturbation (which increases DHT activity), a viral infection, or even fungal growth.

An enlarged prostate creates more pressure and a greater urgency to ejaculate. It’s similar to pushing on your bladder to create a greater urge to urinate. Speaking of which, symptoms of an enlarged prostate are frequent urination, pain while urinating, the inability to urinate at all (in advanced cases), pain while ejaculating, and seminal leakage.

It is best to consult a doctor and get a prostate examine to make sure your prostate is healthy and in a good size, especially if you experience any of these symptoms.

If prostatitis is your problem, your doctor will be able to prescribe something for it. If your problem is benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), then your doctor will also have choices for you. However, be aware that medication for BPH is only meant to alleviate the symptoms (such as urination frequency) and not actually treat the cause and reduce the prostate size.

For that, herbal remedies have been shown to produce more effective and longer lasting effects.

Large amounts of research and data have been collected on prostate related herbs like saw palmetto, pumpkin seeds, pygeum, and nettle. These natural cures have been shown to block the conversion of and remove the excess amounts of DHT, which is responsible for most prostate related problems.

By reducing the size of your prostate, you will alleviate your urgency to orgasm and bring back your ability to delay ejaculation and have great sex with your wife. Also, a healthy prostate will ensure healthy sperm to get your wife pregnant.

As a final note, if it turns out that you have prostate related problems, when you go see your doctor, always choose surgery as a last, desperate solution.

Try using herbs before even considering this option, because prostate surgery is very complicated and may cause more problems than it cures. Negative consequences include, internal bleeding, the inability to ejaculate, and pain during sex and urination, just to name a few.
